Better Water for All network Plus
Re-engineer water engineering for equitable and resilient access to high-quality water for future generations
The Better Water for All Network brings together researchers, industry, policymakers, and communities to address urgent water challenges in the UK and beyond. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across engineering, environmental science, data, and social science, the Network aims to develop innovative, equitable, and sustainable solutions for water quality, availability, and resilience. Together, we are working to ensure secure and fair access to clean water for people and ecosystems, now and in the future.

About our Network
Welcome to our Network.
Water is essential to human life, economic activity, and environmental health, yet faces critical global challenges from rising demand, climate change, and pollution. The future of water security relies on adopting water reuse and circular economy strategies.
However, persistent emerging chemical and biological micropollutants (ECBM), such as PFAS, microplastics, and antimicrobial resistance, threaten water quality and public health. Current infrastructure is inadequate, and solutions must integrate systems thinking to avoid unintended consequences and meet public demands for safe, sustainable, and affordable water.
Better Water for All aims to establish a robust cross-disciplinary network comprising various stakeholders, academic researchers, industry experts, policymakers, NGOs, and public community. The Network will co-create frameworks to address the future challenges and develop strategic roadmaps for research themes in water engineering, foster collaboration and support technology development of efficient, low-cost, and sustainable technologies.
